The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, a drama made in 2004, is a long movie. A long movie about how a man by the name of Benjamin is born with the curse of aging backwards. A short summary includes that Benjamin was born on the day World War I was won, and is born with many symptoms of a old man. As a doctor later describes, ?Arthritis, cataracts, skin deficiency, etc??. He is abandoned on the steps of a old nursing home and the black nurse that works there adopts him. He grows younger and younger everyday and experiences many traumatizing, educating and fulfilling events on the way ?younger?. You can look up a extensive summary of the movie if you wish, but I would like to focus upon the first half of the story. The part in which Benjamin lives in a nursing home and constantly has to see the death of his friends and acquaintances around him. He views death from a much different perspective then a normal aging person. Through having to deal with death almost every day, Benjamin learns to cherish and love everyone he meets, before he becomes to young to understand how and why to appreciate them. ?You don?t know what you have until it?s gone?, as the saying goes, and this movie is a perfect example of this. Also because of the fact that Benjamin has to cherish everyone and appreciate them, he develops a sense of strong loyalty to everyone. Everyone ranging from stranger to lover, he boards the tugboat even when they said the captain doesn?t pay and stays loyal to Daisy, his in-and-out lover, throughout his whole life. Even when Daisy and Benjamin age in different directions, they still enjoy each others company more then anyone else s.In conclusion, the moive shows the importance of appreciating and cherishing what you have now, because who knows what will happen to them, or to you, tomorrow.
