A Miami Dolphins fans live thread for the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl, featuring Stanford and Oklahoma State. The game should mark the end of Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck's college career.
In what may be one of the most anticipated games of the 2011-2012 Bowl season, the Stanford Cardinal, and quarterback Andrew Luck, take on the Oklahoma State Cowboys tonight in the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl. This game should be the final collegiate performance for Luck, the presumed top pick in the April NFL draft.
But, don't expect him to have an easy game. Oklahoma State is trying to make an argument that they should have made the BCS National Championship game, rather than a rematch between LSU Tigers and Alabama Crimson Tide. With a solid win here, and an LSU loss to Alabama, there's a possibility that the Cowboys could find themselves atop the AP Poll, and sharing the National Championship with Alabama.

People keep making a big deal about Brandon Weeden?s age. Oklahoma State?s QB will be 28 when the NFL season starts in 2012. Each quarterback is given about 4 years to establish himself, proving he?s got it or doesn?t. Then the franchise makes a HUGE investment or moves on. By that time Weeden will be 32. That gives a franchise at least three more years of good play. I?m good with 7 years from a QB.

by daytonadolfan on Jan 2, 2012 9:12 PM EST up reply actions I really don't think it's out of the realm of possibility that RG III gets picked first either if Indy likes him more, or if Luck informs them he wants to start immediately which would thwart Indy?s plans if Manning is healthy. Unless they release him which I?
by nebuchadnezzar on Jan 2, 2012 9:13 PM EST via iPhone app reply actions Oh my!!! Did you see that lack of arm strength on that throw?
by nebuchadnezzar on Jan 2, 2012 9:16 PM EST via iPhone app up reply actions What's really sad is that Matt Moore can make those kinds of passes too except he can?t throw short passes. What?s up with that?
by Farorefox on Jan 2, 2012 9:23 PM EST via mobile up reply actions Not neccesarily Shorter passes require good touch, timing and anticipation. QB?s with big arms often struggle with West Coast principled style passing (see Joe Flacco).
Liabilty As you know, the NFL is a QB-driven passing league. The nuts and bolts of the Ravens offense are Ray Rice and Anquan Boldin. If the passing game is to be a factor in the playoffs, Flacco is going to have to make 3 to 4 plays with his arm. I have some questions about his abilty to that at this time.

I'm not so sure. Can't be sure what Ireland (or any GM) is thinking. There is still too much that could happen between now and draft day with FA, combine #?s. We could (or any QB needy to team drafting ahead of us) pick up Flynn and then decide to acquire a WR early in the draft. I was really impressed with this kids moves. As much as I like Hartline and Bess, this guy would easily be better than both and open up our passing game for whoever the QB is.

by texascowpunk on Jan 3, 2012 12:23 AM EST up reply actions Irsay said he wants another SB before he dies. My impression of that is: ?we?re going forward with Manning.?
by MMANDIA on Jan 3, 2012 12:06 AM EST up reply actions Furthermore, Tanking the game assured them #1 overall. That?s the pick to have this year if you wanna trade it.
by MMANDIA on Jan 3, 2012 12:08 AM EST up reply actions That Blackmon stiff arm was nas-tay Pilot of the "Stiffin' for Griffin III in 2012"
by The Earl on Jan 3, 2012 12:05 AM EST up reply actions I'm telling ya, if we can get Blackmon across from BM I think Moore will be good enough with our D.
by MMANDIA on Jan 3, 2012 12:09 AM EST up reply actions I love the way aggressive college coaches go for it on 4th down. "He has a bad case of dumb face to boot."
by MMANDIA on Jan 3, 2012 12:05 AM EST reply actions Luck doesn't have anybody to throw it to No Fleener or Owasu. Griff fucking Whalen is his best WR! And he?ll be lucky if he?
by zeusmith on Jan 3, 2012 12:06 AM EST reply actions Shame on OSU for continuing to blitz this guy Pilot of the "Stiffin' for Griffin III in 2012"

by mjams on Jan 3, 2012 12:13 AM EST via mobile up reply actions I don't think we'll see Fintastic47 around here very much for awhile Luck 26-30, 345 yards, 2TD?
Right team in the nation isn?t good enough competition obviously. The arm strength thing I?ve never gotten and he made every throw you want in this game from deep sideline to long seem route. But I?m sure he?ll try that crap on us.
by zeusmith on Jan 3, 2012 12:14 AM EST up reply actions I hope he misses the FG TO ACQUIRE KNOWLEDGE; ONE MUST STUDY,TO ACQUIRE WISDOM ONE MUST OBSERVE !!

by zeusmith on Jan 3, 2012 12:15 AM EST reply actions Wow!!!!!! The Kicker missed it. I fStanford loses this game the kicker may not be let on the plane.
by Ravens One on Jan 3, 2012 12:16 AM EST reply actions I just read this gem on twitter: If I ran the Dolphins I?d hedge my bets at quarterback with this plan. Matt Moore is here to stay, and that?s a good thing. But I?d address the position by signing Green Bay?s Matt Flynn, and draft Oklahoma State?s Brandon Weeden in the second round. That gives the team three good quarterback options, and you can still use your first round draft pick on a position of need. One of those three ? Moore, Flynn or Weeden ? will get the job done for the rest of the decade.
by texascowpunk on Jan 3, 2012 12:21 AM EST up reply actions lol. Remember the "Playa Haters Ball" on Chappelle Show? They were commenting on pictures of celebs, and Kelly Osborne picture came up. ?I?ve heard the song she sings??Papa Don?t Preach.? Well here?s another song for you, bitch?it?s called ?Daughter Don?t Sing.??
