I have just turned 50 years old and my mum 75. Reaching a certain age does sort of make you stop and evaluate your life - and time in general.

I asked an elderly widow what changes she had seen in her lifetime: "None." She replied. "I'm still gathering leaves to eat. My roof still leaks." - 100 years of the women's movement?

"We knew about Safe World for Women from my mom's letters and it made a big difference to us to know that the world was watching....

Sarah took time to talk to me about her imprisonment and to explain how much it meant to her, Shane and Josh, to know that people throughout the world were advocating for them.

"There's nothing more helpful when you are in prison than knowing that there are people who are not going to forget that you are there - that you're not lost to the world.

We knew about Safe World for Women from my mom's letters and it made a big difference to us to know that the world was watching. That people were paying attention to us.

It's a very vulnerable situation to have the most horrible thing that's ever happened to you to be something you have to talk about again and again - and something that so many people all over the world know about.
