It's the divisional round of the playoffs. The New Orleans Saints go on the road to play the San Francisco 49ers. The game is at 3:30 p.m. (Arrowhead Time) and it's on FOX.
The Saints are the rare road favorite in the second round of the playoffs and most are expecting them to win. The 49ers defense is very, very solid and could make them earn it though.
by bossmanham on Jan 14, 2012 3:50 PM CST reply actions The way the game is going right now, it appears that who plays better defense today will win!
by Tarkus on Jan 14, 2012 4:07 PM CST up reply actions Nope. Offense wins. You have to score more points than the other team to win the game.
by Tarkus on Jan 14, 2012 4:06 PM CST up reply actions I predict the 49ers will score first, with a TD pass. Aside from that, I?d like to see the 49ers win. One less team potentially looking for a QB if they win at least one playoff game.
im sure they can but 2 turnovers in the first quarter is what a top 5 d can do. keep the Saints scoreless, that is what a top 5 defense can do.
by Chiefshero on Jan 14, 2012 4:15 PM CST up reply actions Was Smith ever a cassell? He actually played in college, then as a young pro. The truth is almost every quarterback in the league is further along in their development as rookies than cassell was this year.
smith, 4 OC in the first 4 years of his pro (or was it 3?) fans hated him. People said he lack an arm, decision, or any skill at all.
by blooptaabi on Jan 14, 2012 4:16 PM CST via mobile up reply actions I just meant to say I wonder if being on the field as a leader of a team during one?s early development (I.e. college) is an absolute necessity for success at the pro level, IR if that?s something one can learn later on.
by Chiefshero on Jan 14, 2012 4:13 PM CST reply actions Peyton factor = Go 49ers! Even if there is the slightest chance that Peyton is healthy and is released the 49ers would be one of a few teams that would potentially make more sense than the Chiefs? thus, we should want Alex Smith to do well in the playoffs. :)
by timmer on Jan 14, 2012 4:20 PM CST up reply actions Brees, who would normally look that Safety off Made a very poor attempt at doing so with that very slight shoulder fake.
by ArrowSpread on Jan 14, 2012 4:14 PM CST reply actions Brees - Dome = Matt Cassel Sporting KC will win the 2012 MLS Cup, the Chiefs will win the 2014 Super Bowl, the Royals will win the 2053 World Series.
by Chiefshero on Jan 14, 2012 4:15 PM CST reply actions Man, how good does Alex Smith feel right now? After being picked 1st overall over Rodger, nobody thought he would become good QB let along a decent until the 2011 season.
by Chiefshero on Jan 14, 2012 4:21 PM CST up reply actions Ohhh.... I don?t know why it took me a while but you replaced ?god? with ?tebow? didn?t you?
by Tarkus on Jan 14, 2012 4:30 PM CST up reply actions wow this might get out of control soon, now 49ers can pin there ears back since they are taking away the run by the scoreboard.
by Chiefshero on Jan 14, 2012 4:38 PM CST up reply actions that would just be a momentum change if you fail which odds are you fail up 14 add more points and keep momentum.
by bonesjackson on Jan 14, 2012 4:25 PM CST reply actions I think it's hilarious how these announcers are missing pretty big things.
by bossmanham on Jan 14, 2012 4:28 PM CST up reply actions the most they been down by is 10 this year and didnt face a D like san fran. if you can be up 3 scores you do it while keeping momentum. play smart, aggressive is not needed right now.
by Chiefshero on Jan 14, 2012 4:28 PM CST up reply actions See! You don't need a dominant QB to win in the playoffs. The saying is holding up? Defense wins championships! And we almost have a dominant one :) Was really curious of how this would go today.
by Tarkus on Jan 14, 2012 4:56 PM CST up reply actions No, you don't. You just need one that can read a defense and make accurate throws.
by EricBerryYoYouScary on Jan 14, 2012 4:45 PM CST up reply actions Refs are getting so bad in this league. New training is needed or something, because teams should not have to challenge that crap.
I think he meant the fact that they missed that call in the first place. Sporting KC will win the 2012 MLS Cup, the Chiefs will win the 2014 Super Bowl, the Royals will win the 2053 World Series.

great pass But show me a KC highlight..don?t get me wrong. He can make a throw now and again but is he really going to win us a championship?
i also said he has made good throws... But never like the touch passes we see from Brees, Rogers, Brady, Eli M. Is like to see highlights of Cassel in KC making a throw like the Brees Td today.
