With a win today, DET (40-17-2) will have recorded 23 consecutive home wins, the most ever in the NHL (22 consecutive wins held by the 1929-30 BOS Bruins and DET). Winning against SJS (31-18-7) will be the icing on the record, as the Wings are their whipping boy. The Sharks have won the last five regular season games against the Wings, and to add insult to injury, have eliminated DET in the second round of the playoffs the past two seasons. This shit has got to stop, no time like the present.

DET: .695 point% (2), 3.05 G/G (5), 2.30 GA/G (5), 1.52 5-5 F/A (2), 17.7 PP% (14), 81.5 PK% (21), 32.8 S/G (4), 26.9 SA/G (3), 51.4 FO% (7).

SJS: .616 point% (7), 2.84 G/G (9), 2.43 GA/G (8), 1.25 5-5 F/A (5), 21.0 PP% (3), 78.0 PK% (27), 34.8 S/G (1), 28.4 SA/G (6), 53.1% (2).

?MacDonald is playing too good. I?m going to give Howard two more days,?? Babcock said. ?The other guy (MacDonald) is playing great. It gives (Howard) two more days to practice. Why would I rush it when the other guy?s playing good???

Here?s a shout out to all you Bitches on the west coast, South Pacific, and elsewhere, who have to get up early Sunday morning to watch the game.

Wings have been getting some puck luck. Joey Mac has been good, also been lucky. We coulda shoulda been giving up a few more goals than we have. This will correct itself, the Wings will lose some games, and then panic will set in. A couple of folks will say some amazingly stupid things of a critical nature that are totally unfounded. We know who they are and they can?t help themselves, we read the first one and then opt just to skip over their next posts.

?This shows that the Wings can?t get over the hump and the Sharks are still the team to beat. Holland hasn?t done a thing since the playoffs to improve the team and this season is a waste. He needs to do something big by the trade deadline. bob loblaw.?

Will be interesting to see how that turns out. Detroit 3 point lead, StL 1 game in hand. Twice as many away as home games is very unusual.

I?ve got a suspicion that the local station will show the Pittsburgh game. NHL Center Ice didn?t show other noon games. May have to resort to streaming freetv.

Coach Todd McLellan voiced his displeasure after Niemi?s latest start, a 6-5 overtime loss Thursday to the Tampa Bay Lightning. And when backup Thomas Greiss performed more credibly the following night in a 3-2 loss, McLellan hedged on who would face Detroit. . . .

Over each of their past five games?and for Greiss, that goes all the way back to Jan. 14?the backup has the better stats. While Greiss has an impressive 1.99 goals average and .924 save percentage. Niemi?s are a weak 3.90 and .868.

Ok?.here is how I see it?..I would love to be optimist, but I honestly do no think we will win today. The sharks have our number?it makes me sick just to think of it?but if I am wrong?and I pray that I will be?.then a victory VS the shark in my book= Conference finals. If we can beat them, we can beat anybody.

Thanks Jeff, that is good info, hope it holds up. Interesting the switch between northern Virginia carrying Pittsburgh and central and western Virginia carrying the Wings.

Monkey we were supposed to get 1-3? here, they started hedging on that and delaying the snow start time. It may stay too warm for us to get much, even so, with the ground at 50 degrees from the warm winter not much will stick.

This projects you could be on the edge of the 6 - 12? block. Looks like that goes from Roanoke to Bristol, possibly just to Marion.

If they beat us because we just cannot match up, well that?s one thing. If they beat us because they have our number, that changes and things even out. There are people who will just go apeshit and draw the wrong conclusions if a slapshot hits a shin and deflects past our goalie for a game winner. By God, then it will be a case of we haven?t done anything to make the team better and the Sharks are ten feet tall.

Thanks for the info, looks like we?ll have options. Sometimes the local Richmond station has carried the northern Virginia game instead of what was listed.

Something akin to sleet started at about 8, changed to snow at 9, large flakes at 10. As you said, ground is still too warm for anything to stick, but temperature is dropping as the front moves in.

Still absolutely no snow here other than in the shadows. Absolutely surreal winter time here. I feel like I"m back in New Mexico aside from the 0 degree stuff all the time.

Will be missing the LB AND the game today ... going out on a missing person search for CAP. I may be low enough to catch tidbits on my droid so shhhhh?don?t tell the FAA or the FCC I?

It is. I had the opportunity to meet the family of a fella we searched for a couple years ago. Unfortunately we were too late finding this guy but we did finally find him?his family was a mess of course and they actually had the sheriff in their house listening on State Radio when we were directing the deputy to the location.

Like every other Wings fan, I really, really, REALLY want the Wings to win today and end this ridiculous curse of the Snarks. But I am nervous about today. National TV and all. But I actually have a good feeling. The Wings are rolling, and playing with confidence - almost swagger - of late. And I applaud Babcock for going with the hot goalie. I think the Wings will prevail.

Lastly, bob loblaw is a well-known troll on this site and others, and I refuse to waste time reading his ridiculous garbage. He loves to get Wings fans riled up, so let?s just all agree to ignore him, OK?

I know, it?s ridiculous. My personal obsession is that having JMac play today is one game too many for him and he?ll get shelled. All sorts of sky is falling doom and gloom stuff going on upstairs right now.

Actually Bill, we do all of our visual searches from 1000ft AGL ( above ground level) and 100ish kt ground speed, but we?re authorized to dip down to 500 ft if there?s something we want/need to get a better look at but can?t loiter due to FAA restrictions and such.

That is what I was alluding to. He?s had shots go off the post, shots off his head. He?s cleared the puck right to the other team while out of the net and they somehow missed. The puck has hit him when he hasn?t seen it.

One of the greatest gifs ever, and another reason why Thornton is a little bitch. Thank God, he got 2 for unsportsmanlike for diving. Unfortunately, Franzen got 2 for slashing the little bitch.

Enjoy the LB everyone. I?ll be curled up in a chair in front of the TV, chewing my nails. Thank the hockey gods it?s Ken Daniels doing play-by-play!

I promised myself I won?t flip out. It?s gonna be a loooooong day. Last Friday, it was Walkom?s boy toy, Kevin Pollock, and today, we get the devil bastard himself. We are gonna be one angry fanbase today.

I?m with you Okie. Normally, I would have the feeling of impending doom because it?s the Sharks, but they?ve been erratic with their play lately, 3-5 this month, including having lost their last two. I?m actuallt thinking a lopsided Wings victory is in the cards. I?m just glad I get to actually watch the game live for once.
