GURGAON/CHANDIGARH: Following the Delhi model, the Haryana government may soon start a scheme to build bus terminus on public private partnership (PPP) mode. The scheme will begin with Faridabad, however, soon other districts in the state including Gurgaon would get similar projects.
The first bus terminus at Faridabad will be built on 15 acres. The land has been transferred by the Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) to the transport department for the purpose. The state public works development (PWD) minister Randeep Singh Surjewala told the Haryana assembly on Wednesday that the modern bus terminus will be built in Sector-12 of Faridabad.
The minister said a 13.35-km Bahadurgarh bypass will be constructed at a cost of Rs 110 crore by the year end. He said roads from Bahadurgarh to Kharkhoda via Jasore Kheri was being improved by widening, strengthening and raising at a cost of Rs 35.57 crore and it would be completed by December next year.

The state government is also considering construction of an another bypass in Sonipat along Gohana-Sonipat road. As a part of improving the road network, the minister said that Panchkula-Yamunanagar highway would have four lanes. Its alignment is being finalized and the case will be perused with the Union government.
Replying to a question asked by MLA Aftab Ahmed on schemes under consideration by the government to increase forest cover in Faridabad, Gurgaon and Mewat districts, environment and forest minister Ajay Singh Yadav said the department had set a target to plant 7.70 lakh saplings in the Aravalis and out of these 15 lakh saplings would be given for free.
Yadav said a sum of Rs 34 crore would be spent in Mewat, Faridabad, Gurgaon, Mahendergarh, Rewari and Bhiwani districts under a Central tree plantation scheme which would be implemented during 2011-12 and 2013-14. Under the scheme, check dams would be constructed, 25 village ponds would be renovated and trees would be planted over an area of 300 hectares. Two lakh saplings would be planted in Faridabad, Gurgaon and Mewat through the forest development agency. A herbal park would also be set up in each of the three districts.
