Coachella just posted this year?s lineup on its Facebook and Twitter. Headliners for the double weekend festival are Black Keys (Friday), Radiohead (Saturday), and Dr. Dre & Snoop Dogg (Sunday). Even more exciting are the acts highlighting the Recently Reunited undercard: At The Drive-In, Refused, Mazzy Star, and Pulp. This year?s event goes down April 13-15 and April 20-22, so double your sunscreen budget.
Jesse Brooks | Posted on Jan 10th Um, hey guys. There are these things called airplanes that magically transport you to the other side of the country. Quickly. You can get tickets for cheap as hell. Whining about the distance is a first world problem and if you can afford tickets you can probably afford a plane ticket as well.
Paul Gallo | Posted on Jan 10th I don?t know what world you live in, but plane tickets and accommodation easily triples the cost of going to a festival like this.
Ben Cornell | Posted on Jan 10th but if you took them, you only would?ve cried more. sounds like you were destined to shed tears either way.
I think you?re thinking of Conor Oberst. Also, Jeff Mangum?s been super reliable and totally on point throughout his tour so I doubt he?d just give up for Coachella.
Ryan Vogel | Posted on Jan 10th He?s playing 2 days at the end of his tour in Athens,GA?if you really wanted to go you could make it.
Harun Petri | Posted on Jan 9th everybody you should all thumbs up this comment, so that I can get into steroegum?s worst/best comments, thank you!
Alex Manning | Posted on Jan 9th I am a little disappointed they put all my favorite bands on Saturday. It was definitely my goal to just spend the day at the Radiohead stage waiting to get close.
Michael David Smith | Posted on Jan 10th If people stopped standing around like zombies waiting for Radiohead at festivals it would make seeing their name on the Coachella lineup so much more exciting.
Ryan Vogel | Posted on Jan 10th My thoughts exactly?I?m getting too old for the pit but you bet your ass it?s happening that weekend.
Robert Wohner | Posted on Jan 9th After the seed of Fiona Apple was planted in the fake version, this never could have measured up.
Eric Russell Taylor | Posted on Jan 10th Love Mazzy Star, but listening to, and watching them play is completely different. They barely wowed in a 400 capacity room with great sound years ago?.mainly because they all seemed bored as hell on stage. I doubt that part is gonna have changed sadly.
Davey Pants | Posted on Jan 12th Pulp is great, even though Jarvis can?t really hit the notes anymore, but god i love that motherfucker:) he?s SO the straight Morrissey.
Saturday and Sunday are My days<3 I was thinking of moving out to New York, but this just reminded me how grateful I am to live in the Best Coast in California! ALSO, this just totally made me reconsider if it's even worth it buying EDC tickets, all the performances I wanted to see there are HERE. And the line-up hasn't even came out for it! ughhh, I fell in love today!
Alex Manning | Posted on Jan 9th As a Californian, please do me a favor and never call it the best coast again. People hate us enough, let?s not deserve it.
Isaiah Williams | Posted on Jan 9th OMG! Feed me, Noisia, M83, Flying lotus, Zeds Dead, Borgore, Flux Pavilion, Justice. I am definitively going!!!
Ben Cornell | Posted on Jan 10th to be honest, not at all? it?s so consistently incredible that i don?t even react to the lineup anymore. saw all the names and thought, ?yep, sounds about right.? if i were going, of course, i?m sure my excitement level would be a bit higher.
Michael Ashworth | Posted on Jan 10th Stone Roses was the big rumor right? That sure would make up for Dre & Snoop Dogg headlining on Sunday.
Davey Pants | Posted on Jan 12th i dont know about that, Roses never were exactly a punk rock explosion live?and hearing all The Chronic stuff live has gotta be fun, not that i wouldn?t love to hear a Roses greatest hits collection live, something i never thought would ever happen.
It?s called an airplane, or a bus, or a car. If you want to go you?ll find a way and if you?re too young, just wait, your time will come.
Also, At The Drive-In ? how funny ? I was randomly going through The Mars Volta?s albums recently for the first time in years, and then, BAM, today ATDI get back together and are on the list!
Ryan Vogel | Posted on Jan 10th Yeah if I can?t get a ticket I will be pissed. I didn?t listen to ?The Shape of Punk to Come? until they were already in the process of calling it quits. I can?t believe I?ll actually get to see them live.
Ryan Vogel | Posted on Jan 10th At least Skrillex isn?t playing?and Refused + At the Drive-In should be enough rock for any festival.
Natasha Wood | Posted on Jan 10th http://www.google.com/imgres?hl=en&safe=off&sa=X&rlz=1C1CHFX_enUS389US389&biw=1366&bih=667&tbm=isch&prmd=imvns&tbnid=BTTq3Tpru6pvKM:&imgrefurl=http://terribleanalogies.com/2009/06/the-best-popping-cracking-gum/&docid=UHgVAzfoVIsnGM&imgurl=http://terribleanalogies.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/5gum.jpg&w=400&h=319&ei=cIQMT87TI5P9iQKX64T-Aw&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=498&vpy=193&dur=436&hovh=188&hovw=235&tx=89&ty=53&sig=113091678110732080234&page=1&tbnh=139&tbnw=173&start=0&ndsp=20&ved=1t:429,r:2,s:
Teddy Armstrong | Posted on Jan 10th I?m surprised no one has mentioned this but fIREHOSE!?!? They?re playing shows again!?!?! When did this happen? This is as close to seeing the Minutemen as we?ll ever get in this dark day and age!
Tyrone J. Cadogan | Posted on Jan 10th Friday at the very bottom: Please tell me that ?Dear Hunter? is a different band than Deerhunter and that the folks over at Coachella didn?t really: 1.) Typo the shit out of a well established band like Deerhunter 2.) If number 1 is correct put a well established band like Deerhunter (Dear Hunter?) lower on the bill than Ximena Siranana?
Richy Campos | Posted on Jan 10th Can?t understand how headliner bands like Kasabian and Arctic Monkeys (in Europe at least) get such a low place on the bill. However, midcard act in the UK, La Roux, gets a better place. Don?t get me wrong, I love La Roux, but I don?t think it?s fair for a band like Kasabian not to get that attention.
Michael Ashworth | Posted on Jan 10th Because Kasabian is god-awful and the Arctic Monkeys keep writing the same album over and over again, while La Roux, with her funny little hairdo, actually broke through here in ?merica.
Danny Le | Posted on Jan 11th and they?re bands that should never play together again. Embarrassing ATDI is only reuniting for a festival.
Harun Petri | Posted on Jan 17th RATM freaking reunited for coachella!!! have you ever listened to their live album? really good! guess where that was? coachella?.
Besides ASAP, Kendrick Lamar, FlyLo, Yuck, Real Estate, Dre & Snoop, most of the line-up are so-so. I thought Refused was fucking dead? Squeeze and other bands that reunite for festivals are dumb. Bands need to know when their stay is over welcomed (U2, Radiohead, REM, Metallica, Jane?s Addiction)
Danny Le | Posted on Jan 11th Why is the Black Keys headlining? Liked how The Black Keys blasted Nickelback when they?re essentially the 20teens version of Nickelback.
Cody Morris | Posted on Jan 11th im hoping you?re standing next to some very high platform, and im hoping you?re going to listen to me when i plead with you to jump off of it.
Michael David Smith | Posted on Jan 11th I?ll buy it! I can wait to hang out with all the bros who?ll come to see Pulp reunite and Jeff Mangum play a solo set. We are gonna crush a ton of Tecate chillaxin to their jams!
Ben Cornell | Posted on Jan 12th funny that you?re disappointed with 95% of the lineup, yet claim to have bought an advance ticket. buying a ticket before the lineup comes out tells me that you?re at least somewhat familiar with coachella, and had an expectation based on the last few years ? an expectation that you relied upon to the tune of several hundred dollars. so, this begs the question: what the fuck DID you expect??
odds are you?re literally the only ticketholder in the country who saw the lineup and said, ?aw shit, radiohead?! explosions in the sky, jeff mangum, at the drive-in, bon iver? well fuck that, i?m not going.?
This has to got be some of the best small print I?ve ever seen on a line up poster. Now I have to decided between this and N.O. Jazz Fest (which is only 2.5 hours away instead of the other side of the country).
Robert Locke | Posted on Jan 11th Dre & Snoop replaced Black Sabbath who pulled out sunday evening due to Tony Iommi?s cancer. Surprised stereogum hasnt reported that since damn near everyone else has?..
Will Jackson | Posted on Jan 11th for those in NYC who cant make it all the way to Coachella Axwell from Swedish House Mafia is performing on Feb 24 at this crazy opera-meets-circus event called The Cosmic Opera http://www.thecosmicopera.
Bailey McLellan | Posted on Jan 11th I know their tour dates already ruled them out as headliners, but I?m still relieved that Coldplay won?t be there.
Timothy Green | Posted on Jan 12th SUNDAY, I?m pretty pumped to see dr dre, at the drive in, an beirut, BUT THEN WHAT? Any suggestion? Nothing looks good on sunday.
Dan Haase | Posted on Jan 12th Man?. really. Sunday is the best day of the Fest! The Weeknd, Gotye, araabmuzik, CoFlow, Justice, Calvin Harris, Florence & the Machine??. the list goes on. This is the day that?
Eli Zach | Posted on Jan 12th The Black Keys, Pulp, Arctic Monkeys,Explosions in the Sky, M83, GIRLS, M. Ward, The Horrors, Yuck, Neon Indian, Dawes, Black Angels, Givers,Band of Skulls,Radiohead, Bon Iver, The Shins, Noel Gallagher?s High Flying Birds, Jeff Mangum, Andrew Bird, Feist, Firehose, St. Vincent,Manchester Orchestra, Kasabian, Buzzcocks, Kaiser Chiefs, Destroyer, The Head and the Heart, Laura Marling, Tuneyards, Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, Black Lips, The Big Pink, Childish Gambino, The Vaccines, , Gary Clark Jr., Dragonette, Florence and the Machine, Beirut, The Weeknd, Girl Talk, The Hives, Wild Flag, Gotye, Fitz and the Tantrums,Real Estate, Metronomy, Wild Beasts, and, Fanfarlo all in one festival? Godlike.
Shelby Woolf | Posted on Feb 1st SICK lineup. only thing that could make it better is Jack White. His new solo album will be out April 24. First look with a new single here http://www.jackwhiteiii.
Lauren Brown | Posted on Feb 14th Really kills me that I can?t go to this because I?m halfway across the country, yea I get ACL but this lineup:
