You remember that iconic bikini she wore as Princess Leia in ?Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi? back in 1983, right? The one that it has its own website?
Well, Fisher is much closer to wearing her long-forgot two-piece number outfit, having lost 50 pounds in nine months on the Jenny Craig Weight Loss program.
?I want to get into the metal bikini and just walk around the house like an idiot,? she chuckled. ?Answer the doorbell: ?What is it? This old thing?? ? I?ll come out with a line of metal bikinis for women over 40. If you want dignity, you wear metal bikinis over (age) 40.?
Fisher, who became Janny Craig?s spokesperson, is now on tour with her one-woman play, ?Wishful Drinking,? which narrates her Hollywood in-breed-ed life. ( her growing up as Eddie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds? child, her various romances (including her marriage to Paul Simon), her struggles with alcohol and being Princess Leia in ?Star Wars?).
Even though gaining weight was not actually part of Carrie Fishers? plan, it just happened. When Curry asked what the spark was that propelled Fisher into a weight loss program, and she said:
?The spark was that I weighed three million pounds. I couldn?t look in the mirror. I thought that was getting old. It turns out it was mostly getting fat.?
Carrie Fisher?s ?Wishful Drinking? will be followed by her upcoming ?Shockaholic? memoir, that will be released this November. The new book will dedicate a whole chapter on her weight loss called, ?Wishful Shrinking?.
However, while Fisher was thrilled to be able to find clothing in her size again (after exhausting the alphabet on bra sizes), she says there?s still something she?ll never wear again: sleeveless clothing.
