Callista Gingrich speaks to The Daily Caller, finally | Answers came two and a half months after questions.

Late in 2011 when former House Speaker Newt Gingrich was surging in the GOP presidential primary polls, The Daily Caller sought an interview with the blonde who is always no farther than a comfortable leap away from his side, Gingrich?s third and current wife Callista.
When Mrs. Gingrich was unavailable for even a brief phone interview back in early December, TheDC settled for an offer to send prepared questions for her to answer in a timely manner.
That handler would not comment on why it took so long to respond. News reports, however, show Mrs. Gingrich becoming a more visible player in her husband?s campaign. She delivered her first solo campaign speech Tuesday.
Gingrich campaign strategist Kellyanne Conway told Politico on Tuesday that Mrs. Gingrich will be taking on a more visible role in the campaign.
?There has been a hunger for a while for people to spend more time with and get to know better Callista,? Conway said, explaining that the campaign will begin offering more interviews to publications like People and Us Weekly. ?I?m all for it.?
While there is some irony in leveraging a candidate?s former mistress to execute his campaign?s ?bring out the wife? strategy, Mrs. Gingrich?s belated answers provide a peek into what kind of first lady she would be. (RELATED: Full coverage of the Gingrich campaign)
Michelle Obama has used her platform to take the nation on a health kick and act as an advocate for military families. Should Mrs. Gingrich take her place, she explained, her focus would be on music, on ?reinforc[ing] the importance of learning American history? and on raising awareness about cancer and early detection.
?As a musician, I believe that music is a vital part of a complete education,? she told TheDC. ?Music teaches discipline, character, teamwork, and self-expression. Studies indicate that music students show higher levels of proficiency in science and math. Unfortunately, many schools are forced to cut or eliminate entire music programs. I would work hard to communicate the importance of music education as a vital part of a complete education.?
?I have always been a fan of classic, timeless pieces ? clean suits, monochromatic colors, and three-quarter sleeves,? Mrs. Gingrich explained. ?Like many, I always found Jackie Kennedy to be a true fashion icon.?
In the midst of a tough presidential campaign, she noted too that one of the ?most challenging parts of being on the campaign trail is ignoring unmerited attacks.?
?Newt and I have pledged to run an issue-oriented, solutions-based campaign. Most Americans are turned-off by negative partisan attacks and we feel it is our duty to stay focused on the issues that are truly important,? she wrote. ?Americans deserve real ideas and solutions to the many challenges our country is facing.?
Asked how she would handle having the eyes of the world on her, she responded, ?If given the opportunity to be First Lady, I will continue to focus on supporting my husband and helping rebuild the America we love.?
?My role is to support my husband and advocate policies that will help rebuild the America we love,? she wrote. ?Newt and I work together on strategy, schedule, and organization. We campaign together on a regular basis. In addition, I speak independently with various groups, share our documentary films, and host book signings throughout the country.?

This is outrageous. How could the whining "Daily Tattler" be left hanging for months by one of the Republican candidates for President? Stuck waiting months by the website that is funded by the same guy who is the big money backer for Rick Santorum. How could the Daily Tattler keep from crying and messing and wetting their diaper I will never know. The candidate just flat out refused to reply no matter what the Tattler did. Oh no, no, no, no, it couldn't be, no, no way, it was "the blonde who is always near the candidates side" no, no, say it isn't so. It is crucial to the Daily Tattler to have an immediate reply from the candidate's "blonde" for the website to be able to write the news it is so famous for delivering to the gossip starved audience, who can't live without word from the people who aren't running for office. Who doesn't want more answers from Michelle Obama for instance? I'll bet Michelle Obama sent in her answers to the Tattler right away and thanked them for the opportunity. Yeah, that happened. Talk about stupid.
Why is Callista required to follow what the DC requests of her? After seeing this vicious smear written under the guise of being an article, I can't imagine why she wouldn't have wanted to do an interview sooner! This whole site has been totally unfair to the most accomplished conservative in the race-Newt.

This article is disgusting. How many personal attacks on a candidate's wife can you fit in one article? I guess that's the way to try to get ahead at the Daily Caller, bash anything to do with Newt, no matter how vile the attack is. Newt is the only candidate who has ever accomplished a huge conservative agenda, and he is the only one who has proposed real conservative reform today. Romney's proposals are weak and Santorum's call for government to pick winners and losers. If Santorum gets to the general election, the condoms are evil guy will lose by a record margin, again.
well good job, youve compared all the losers, so when Ron Paul wins, you can look back and reflect on your misdirection, as the country recovers. All the losers you mentioned above will kill american citizens through war and eugenics, where you have a chance to choose the right side and fight for things that matter to you, not pleasing the status quo. Calista is on Newt's arm most of the time because she is aware of what happens when his wives are NOT in close proximity. He marries the women after a nasty divorce!
Newt is perpetually whing and using Romney as a scapegoat because he doesnt want to be held accountable for his own record, behavior and history. Newt did accomplish some great things as Speaker, but balance that with unacceptable, arrogant and often questionable behavior. This victim dance Newt is doing got tired and pathetic very quickly. Bottom line, brillant idea guy - but arrogant and totally untrustworthy.
I wonder how much longer she will be third wife for. I just can't believe any self-respecting conservative could say nice things about this man, his sexual voyeurism and amoral lifestyle make Bill Clinton look like a saint in comparison.
Hmmm. On the one hand, we have a woman that wants to force us to eat what she wants us to eat, and on the other, we have a woman that thinks music programs in schools should not be eliminated. The one is forcing us to do stuff we don't want to do, while the other would just like to see that we have more options in education. Unless the latter forces everyone to make music, I can live with the change.
I think Newt is very smart and more than a little lacking in self-control. Beyond that, I have big problems with the possibility of Callista, with her code of ethics, becoming First Lady.
