Apple Crisp pictures (1 of 5)Next Back We are farewelling our winter down under and most of you in the Northern Hemisphere are welcoming your fall. I managed to make this apple crisp during one of the last few chilly evenings we have left. One of our favorite family desserts.
I have added strawberries to this apple crisp recipe because I love the slight tartness that strawberries bring. They add a plash of color to this dessert as well.
I cooked the apple in maple syrup and I have added ground almond and toasted sliced almonds in the crisp. Hope you will enjoy this apple crisp recipe as much as my family does.
3. Combine the diced apples, maple syrup and water in a medium saucepan and cook over medium heat for 3-4 minutes or until apple is slightly softened.
6. Mix the almond meal, flour and sugar in a medium bowl until well combined. Rub in the butter with your finger tips until the mixture resemble fine crumbs. Stir in the toasted flaked almonds.
