Josh Krajcik, Chris Rene and Melanie Amaro each made their final two performances for the show, closing out the first season of the Brit import with some Grade A-brand star power.
Underdog Josh Krajcik opened the show with a chilling version of Morissette's "Uninvited," hobnobbing his way around the stage as the 90s pop star commanded the audience's attention.
"I thought you were a little bit intimidated at the beginning," Simon Cowell told the Wooster, Ohio native, though fellow judge L.A. Reid called the duet "surreal."
Krajcik, who first impressed the judges with a soulful rendition of Etta James' "At Last" during his Chicago audition in September, has proven to be a powerhouse of raw emotions.
He reprised his original choice of song for his second performance of the night, tossing in a guitar to add a new element to the ballad.
The second performer of the night, former trash collector Chris Rene, pulled together a decidedly weak performance with Avril Lavigne, who seemed to thoroughly enjoy herself in a rap-laced version of her hit "Complicated."
