Jammu, Feb 12: Retention of former education minister Peerzada Muhammad Sayeed in the council of ministers by the Congress high command has not gone well the divided rank and file of the party in the state.
If sources within the party are to be believed, some Congress leaders have shown serious concern over the adoption of ?double-standard? by the party high command, with regard to the two Congress factions in the state.
They said the inaction by the party leadership in New Delhi is understood to further fuel the dissent within the party camps in the state. ?Party has to explain why it was adopting different yardsticks in similarly situated cases?, a party leader said, preferring not to be named, adding, ?When similar allegations were leveled against the then R&B Minister GM Saroori, the party leadership took no time in removing him from the cabinet but now when the credibility of Congress was at stake, Peerzada was just stripped of one of his portfolios?.
